Diego Jimenez is our social media manager. He is also the Partnerships and Content Manager for Only One, where he focuses on curating content, managing relationships and identifying opportunities for collaboration that support ocean conservation action. Diego also previously worked as a campaign coordinator for award-winning NGO Lonely Whale.
Diego draws from years of working for one of the world’s leading market intelligence firms where he was primarily tasked with cultivating collaborative innovation partnerships with clients. Diego also holds a master’s degree in biology and, throughout his studies, has focused on plastic pollution and community-based conservation. Diego is passionate about bridging the gap between the general public and science-backed initiatives that effectively address the environmental issues affecting our planet. He has shared the importance of community-based conservation through speaking engagements at the Cincinnati Zoo and Brookfield Zoo, as well as during his time as an informal educator at Chicago’s Shedd Aquarium and campaign coordinator at Lonely Whale. Diego is originally from Guatemala and has spent time in both Costa Rica and Mexico supporting conservation projects alongside local communities. In his spare time Diego is a photography and drone enthusiast, writer, swimmer and scuba diver.
